Attendance and participation in the two-day Historic Designation course is mandatory for certification. In addition, a written exam must be passed. Upon completion and successful testing, students receive the Historic Designation certificate, and may use the Historic Designation logo on their business cards, stationery and advertising. Logo standards must be adhered to and are provided with certification.

To maintain certification there will be a bi-yearly course provided, locally.
